A Note from Brian Heon Regarding The Start of Ski Season

Dear Summit Owners,

With cold nights in the forecast signaling winter’s approach, we’re thrilled to welcome you back for the 2021-22 ski season. Though we haven’t set a date for opening day yet, rest assured that our team has been busy preparing for another great winter on the mountain. We’ve installed over 130 new snowguns and 9.5 miles of snowmaking pipe, cut four trails and installed a triple chairlift on Merrill Hill, and are on schedule to open a new store–Betty’s Treats and Treasures–in South Ridge Base Area by mid-December. These are just a few of the many projects completed in the last six months in anticipation of our 62nd ski season.

You may also be wondering what this winter will look like compared to last season in terms of our COVID-19 response. Though things are getting back to normal, we still have some changes to be aware of while visiting Sunday River. I recommend reviewing our COVID-19 Hub before each visit to ensure that you’re prepared and can enjoy your time on the slopes.

We can’t wait to see you. It won’t be long now.
Brian
