Sunday River is absolutely one of my Happy Places! I have been a skier here since 1992, a season passholder for 20 years, an owner at the Grand Summit since 2008, and a member of the Board since 2011. On the board, I have served as Secretary, Vice President, and was elected President in 2017.

I love all four seasons at Sunday River, but am here more in the winter than any other time. My favorite trails are Bim’s Whim, Airglow, Ecstasy, Northern Lights, and Obsession.

My favorite morning break or lunch spot is the Peak Lodge, and my go-to place for après ski is at the bar at Camp with a Maine Beer Company Lunch, or glass of wine.

The thing I am most grateful for is the staff—from food and beverage, to Mountain Ops, hotel front desk, hospitality, maintenance, and everyone in between! They do excellent work and try their best to create a happy place for everyone.

We have some challenges with an aging building and outdated rooms, but I look forward to continuing to work with the board and other owners to address issues and make the investments so that we can truly enjoy this place in its second quarter-century!

I am originally from the Adirondacks in upstate New York, and after a stop in central Ohio and Boston, I have lived in Portland since 1991.  I am enjoying my third career as a Senior Philanthropy Officer for a non-profit reproductive healthcare provider.

Corey Lewis

Vice President

Corey Lewis

Corey Lewis has been skiing at Sunday River for 30 years. During that entire time, he has made the Grand Summit and Jordan Hotels his place to enjoy between runs, in the evenings, and a home away from home. After enjoying ownership as a guest through his sister for several decades,  he bought a unit at the Grand Summit several years ago.

Sunday River trips and stays at the Grand Summit have always recharged Corey’s batteries giving him an appreciation of leisure time with family and friends so that he can return to his career in broadcasting back in Boston. For the past 18 years, Corey has been at WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station and is the Station Manager. Prior to WBUR, Corey Worked for Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Tribune, and other television companies living in Manhattan, Philadelphia, Connecticut, and Rhode Island before returning to his native Boston with his wife and two children. His oldest son is captain of the varsity ski team and credits his time at Sunday River with his ability to lead the team today.

Serving on the board has given Corey a great opportunity to ensure his positive experience at the mountain is maintained and improved for generations to come, surrounded by family and friends old and new.  He hopes to keep the Grand Summit as the destination in New England through quality living, renovations, and a sense of community for all ski enthusiasts and people who expect more from hotel living.

Cindie Aadland

Treasurer and Recording Secretary

Cindie Aadland

I have served on the Board for the last six years, and this past year, I have served as the Treasurer and Secretary

I am actively involved with the association by participating in meetings, keeping up with what is going on in the hotel, and on and around the mountain and local towns. I am enthusiastic about what the board has been able to accomplish, including the financial stability of the association and investments in the capital plan. I have great respect for all owners and their concerns, plus for the resort and staff.

My family bought our first quarter share the fall of 2007 and loved the place so much we bought a larger unit. My husband started skiing Sunday River back in 1977. Our children have learned to ski/snowboard on this mountain. We all consider the Grand Summit our home away from home. We spend ten out of our thirteen weeks in at least one of our units.

I am also a County Supervisor on the Board of the Plymouth County Conservation District. I have served on this Board for over six years. I remain active with working with my son on the family cranberry bogs designing, building/rebuilding new bog acreage.

I have been on the Summit HOA board since 2015. My wife and I started skiing when our children were in college. After we discovered Sunday River, it became our primary ski destination while we lived in New Jersey. We bought our first unit in the Grand Summit after looking at time-shares all around the country. We enjoyed the first unit so much that we bought a second so our family and friends could join us.

Because of the fun we have had at Sunday River, we decided that this is where we would retire.  The Grand Summit is our base of operation year-round. Although we no longer stay in our unit, we use all of the amenities of the hotel.

I have held a number of positions in corporate financial organizations.  I also was part owner and CFO of a nationally known specialty consulting company and sole owner of my own company. I served on the board of the Association of Management Consultants and president of the local chapter and treasurer of the local chapter of American Field Services. I am currently a member of the Hanover, Maine Planning Board.
